Blythe Construction, Inc. is honored to announce its winning of six Quality in Construction (QIC) Awards by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) for paving projects in North and South Carolina. The award category is given to individual roadway projects, in recognition of our team’s “commitment to building high-quality, smooth, durable pavements for the driving public,” according to the award announcements issued by NAPA.
The award-winning projects included four contracts in South Carolina: Highway 301 in Orangeburg, Highway 178 in Pelion, I-77 in Columbia, and the North Auxiliary Airfield. And in North Carolina, projects on I-85 in Guilford County and on I-77 in Mecklenburg County also won QIC Awards. All winners are invited to attend NAPA’s 65th Annual Meeting, which is being hosted this year in Maui, Hawaii.
Blythe Construction is a frequent winner of multiple NAPA quality awards. In addition to the 2019 QIC project winners, plant teams have won numerous Diamond Achievement Commendations in past years, for Excellence in Hot-Mix Asphalt Plant/Site Operations. Additionally, Blythe’s asphalt plant in Concord, NC, was one of two Hot-Mix plants in the United States to be nominated as a semi-finalist for NAPA’s first-ever Environmental Leadership Award in 2019, which was created to recognize outstanding achievement in sustainable practices.
Congratulations to our NC and SC paving teams for the successful execution of their projects, and for this well-deserved recognition!
